Sofia Vergara is not a mum yet, but we all know that she plays one on TV.

So maybe that's why the "Modern Family" star went into detail with Vogue about her fertility plans.

"I have to be careful what I eat because they're freezing my eggs!" she told the magazine. "And then after that is my hormone injections."

Vergara explained that because of her age (40), the doctors want to extract as many "good" eggs as they can.

"They have to be perfect, perfect, perfect ones," she continued. "My boyfriend is 37, younger than me, never had kids, So."

As for when they plan on having a baby, or whether they'll use a surrogate (which is a rumour) remains to be seen, but the actress-otherwise-known-as-Gloria's first son, 21-year-old Monolo, is reportedly on board with a younger sibling.

Talk about a modern family! (I'm here all week.)
