Fun in the Snow
Yes, we have all had enough of the endless pile-up of snow this winter. But the end is in site – we promise! So why not take advantage of the remaining snow we have and take your kids sledding, skiing, hiking or snowshoeing. After, cozy-up under blankets with warm cups of hot cocoa (complete with marshmallows) and settle in to watch your kid’s favourite movie.
Arts, Crafts + a Latte? Yes Please!
Looking for a place where your kids can play while you enjoy a latte and some mom-mom chit chat? Make a bee-line for one of TO’s newest hot-spots: A kid-friendly café. A west-ender? Head to Smock Café in Roncesvalles. Live in the East-end? Lil bean n’ Green is the one for you. If you are situated in mid-town, head to Redfish Bluefish Creative Café.
The Lil’ Kitchn
Inclement weather keeping you home? Why not turn your kitchen into a lil’ kitchn and let your kids become the head chef. Browse through kid-friendly cookbooks or scour the internet for recipes that appeal to your kid’s tastes. Enjoying the treats you made together will make the clean-up at the end of the day well worth it!
Invite your kid’s besties over for a playdate, and then swap another day and go to their house. You will see them double the time and kids love to play with new toys that are different from their own. The best part? You only have one clean-up!
Just because you decided to stay close to home this March Break, doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy a night-off. Treat your kids to a stay at a nice hotel and enjoy the amenities – pool, restaurant, spa, cocktail lounge, game room – you will all go home feeling refreshed and (hopefully) rejuvenated!
