Here is just a handful of some of the amazing Canadian mama writers online who have made a name for themselves and inspired us along the way. They're smart, funny and will definitely lively up your feeds—whip up a Twitter list and bookmark these blogs for your go-to selection of parenting insight and inspiration and laughs this spring.

Alyson Schafer (@alysonschafer)

From the titles of her three books alone, (Breaking the Good Mom Myth, Honey, I Wrecked the Kids, and Ain't Misbehavin), you can get a sense of Schafer's style. There are few issues Schafer won't touch - she's written about everything from introducing your kids to the wild world of social media to smearing poo on bathroom walls. She's been blogging parenting advice for over 15 years, and is brilliantly smart as she is prolific. Her Twitter feed alone will provide you 140 characters of wisdom throughout the day.

Meri Perra (@MERIPERRA)

Catch this Toronto writer's column Queer as Moms on Bunch Family, where she riffs about her experience raising a kid in an interacial lesbian family in Toronto's Regent Park neighborhood. Always honest and passionate, Perra's posts are as thought provoking as they are engaging—whether they're on the subject of family recipes or LGBTQ issues in pop culture.

Rebecca Eckler (@rebeccaeckler)

This well-known author of 9 books (including titles Knocked Up - Confessions of a Mother to Be, How to Raise a Boyfriend the Definitive Manual for Educating Your Man) has written about her trials and tribulations as a girlfriend, mother, and living, breathing, human who makes mistakes, likes to laugh, and doesn't take herself to seriously. Eckler is an entertaining, refeshing, self-proclaimed crazy lady. She brings the sass. Check her out here!

Roy is an Alberta mother of 3 and author of My Organized Chaos, a blog that's full of eye candy for the traveling family. Read her tips for travelling as a clan in Canada, the US, and beyond - especially if you're planning an all-inclusive or a cruise for your fam. She offers useful insights on where to find good deals online from vacation homes to travel insurance to kid-friendly resorts.

Annie Urban (phdinparenting)

Coming at you from a parent / human / feminist in Ottawa, Ontario, PhD in Parenting provides a research-based commentary on the intersection between parenting, feminism, and social change. You'll laugh. You'll cry. You'll be happy you followed Annie. She's an all-round a boss. In a major way.
